Hi there,

I've heard that overcrowding a cichlid tank a bit, is a good idea to surpress aggression. I have a 66 Gallon tank, currently have about 34" (about 13 fish) of chichlids in there right now. How many more fish can I get before its considered overstocked?

Here is my stock list as of right now.

2 Electric Yellows (4")
1 Rusty Yellow (4")
2 Mainganos (2.5")
1 Albino peacock (3")
1 Yellow mbuna (3")
1 Pink mbuna (3")
3 Convicts (2.5") They keep to themselves..
1 Common pleco (4.5")
1 YoYo loach (4.5")
4 Apple snails (1")

Are you wanting to get it overstocked to deal with aggression?  I've not heard that before but I make no claim to be any kind of ciclid expert.

I also have you currently with 42.5" of fish.  Did I get something wrong?

The only other question I have is about the surface area of your tank.  The best stocking guideline I've heard of is 1" per 12 square inches of surface area.
