Hey everyone! I need some help. I am an experienced fish hobbiest, I have 11 aquariums, 6 of which are various betta tanks. I have two 3 Gallon tanks. One with a Veil tail Betta, and one with a Half moon betta. All were healthy until I put 3 small apple snails with them (3 in each tank). Now both of the bettas have become slow, lathargic, and it seems like their fins are squished down, or glued together so that they can't fan up. My half moon dosn't even look like a half moon anymore! I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do, so I isolated both of them, and they haven't made improvements. I have a hard time believing that it is the snails causing the problems, as I have snails in every one of my tanks, so that they breed and I can feed my puffers.... None of them have problems. I have also changed the water once per day, and still no improvements..

ANY IDEAS????

The snails could have introduce something unwanted to your tank.  Clamped fins and lethargy are a sign of stress.

After isolation, did you start any meds?  I'd start a general treatment if you have not already.

If the Giraffe could leap pound for pound as high as a Grasshopper, it would avoid a lot of trouble.
